Film and Television in Irish Women’s Sexual Fantasies Survey

Hello,

My name is Grace Corry and I am looking for women from the age of 18 upward to take part in a study I am carrying out as part of my master’s thesis in film and television, conducted from DCU. My research aims to study the role of film and television in Irish women’s sexual fantasies, as well as the influence of a constantly expanding media landscape.

If you would like to participate in this study, please find attached a link to a questionnaire which surveys the various cultural and social influences on Irish women’s sexual fantasies, influences often delivered through media forms. The research aims to look particularly at the role that film and television play in Irish women’s sexual fantasy (‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ for example, have proved phenomenal and are significant players in a sexualized culture). So little understanding exists in Ireland in the area of women’s sexuality and research analysis specific to Irish women is virtually non-existent, so outside of the people we may discuss it with it remains mysterious. The survey is completely anonymous, so no identifying information will be required. Please understand that your involvement in this study is voluntary, and that you may withdraw at any point. Confidentiality of information provided is subject to legal limitation i.e. admitting to illegal activity over the course of the survey may result in the investigator contacting police.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey. With your help, I hope to shed some light on a subject that remains to this day, considerably taboo.

Best,

Grace

Please be informed that the questionnaire must be completed in one sitting.
