VAGINA MONOLOGUES WORKSHOP
Upstairs at The Other Place Resource Centre, South Main Street, Cork
Saturday 8th February 2014
The Vagina Monologues is a powerful play writen by Eve Ensler. First performed in New York City in 1996, it has gone on to raise over $75 million for women’s anti-violence groups around the world. It is a celebration of female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. Each monologue deals with an aspect of the female experience – sex, love, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation, masturbation, childbirth and orgasm. It is a powerful piece that cannot help but change anyone who comes into contact with it.
This Saturday, we will be facilitating a Vagina Monologues workshop at The Other Place, Cork. The workshop will introduce participants to the material as well as giving anyone interested the chance to perform a monologue with direction. Experienced performers, non-experienced performers, and terrified performers all very welcome.
This preparatory workshop is being held in anticipation of Cork Feminista’s ‘Eat, Play, Love’ fundraiser, on February 14th.
Places are limited so please email: firstname.lastname@example.org asap or call: 089-4069087
