Magdalene Survivors Solidarity Protest

Protest at the Sisters of Mercy Provincial HQ Bishop Street, Cork. (between Proby’s Quay and Sharman Crawford Street)

1pm-4pm Saturday 31st August 2013

lead by Magdalene Survivors & supported by Cork Feminista

This protest at the Sisters of Mercy’s refusal to acknowledge, or pay, for the many wrongs done to inmates of Magdalene Launderies is lead by Magdalene Survivors and supported by their friends, families and Cork Feminista.

People of Cork come out and support these women who have endured so much, stand with them in solidarity and say: ‘you were wronged, you did not deserve what was done to you, you deserve: an apology, your records and financial redress’. Stand up for those who survived, for those who died and for those who cannot join this protest because of institutionalisation, fear and shame.
