An Invitation to a Conversation with Prof. Patricia Hill Collins

Dear all,

I hope this finds you well!

As I’m sure you are aware we in UCD Women’s Studies are hosting a public lecture to be delivered by Prof. Patricia Hill Collins entitled Where Do We Go From Here? Intersectionality and Social Justice.

I am delighted to announce that Prof. Hill Collins has most kindly agreed to participate in an additional event with a specific community focus.

Details: 11.00 – 1.00pm on Thursday 21st March at the National Women’s Council, 4th Floor,
2/3 Parnell Square East, Dublin 1.

This will take the form of a critical conversation in which Prof. Hill Collins will concentrate largely on her intellectual activism and broader community focused work. As it will be less formal than the public lecture it will allow for a greater level of audience interaction.

I very much hope you, or a member of your organization, can attend on the morning.

As places are limited please RSVP.  To reserve a place, please email me at

Prof. Hill Collins specialises in critical race theory and feminist theory. Her work on intersectionality and black feminist thought has won several awards and accolades. Professor Collins has taught at several institutions, held editorial positions with professional journals, lectured widely in the United States and internationally, served in many capacities in professional organizations, and has acted as consultant for a number of community organizations.
