[NWCI] Prostitution Consultation Process – Information for NWCI members

Dear All,

On the 22nd of June Minister of Justice Alan Shatter launched the consultation process document ‘Discussion Document on Future Direction of Prostitution Legislation’. The discussion document has been referred to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Equality and Defence. Members of the public are invited to make submissions to the Committee.

The deadline for submissions is the 31st of August 2012.

The National Women’s Council of Ireland is currently in the process of reviewing the document and writing our submission. As NWCI is part of the Turn off the Red Light Campaign we will be reflecting their campaign goals. We would like to invite our members to send in any points that they would like to see reflected in our submission. Once we have finalized it we will circulate to all our members.

We would strongly encourage each of our member organisation to send in their own submission and if you need any support with that, you can contact me at jacquelineh@nwci.ie. Please find attached a copy of guidelines for making a submission.

Kind regards,

Jacqueline Healy
