A Discussion on Prostitution & Trafficking

Speakers on the night are Wendy Lyon and Claire Cumisky.
Wendy Lyon is an activist and blogger with the newly-established FeministIre collective. She recently completed an LLM in International Human Rights Law at Griffith College Dublin, with a dissertation titled “Prohibitory Prostitution Laws and the Human Right to Health”.
Claire Cumisky is the Legal Information Officer at NASC, the Irish Immigrant Support Centre in Cork. Claire holds a BCL (Law & German) and LLM (Criminal Justice) from University College Cork. She previously undertook an internship with the Irish Refugee Council and has volunteered with the Sexual Violence Centre (Cork). She has a particular research interest in the area of asylum and immigration law and has contributed to a number of legal research projects on a national and EU level in the area of asylum and immigration law.
Our aim is to have an open, safe, respectful discussion on the issues involved in prostitution and trafficking and the different campaigns which have emerged in response to these issues.
